You filled my heart with love until it hurt so much
Stretched to receive something of the Infinite
And then when You withdrew, so suddenly, I felt
As if I had been wounded – wounded by love

“COME, ENTER INTO YOUR INNER ROOMS, SHUT THE DOOR BEHIND YOU
AND HIDE YOURSELF – EVEN FOR A MOMENT…
I WILL GIVE YOU HIDDEN TREASURES AND REVEAL TO YOU
THE MYSTERIES – THE SECRETS OF MY HEART”

And so I yearned for You, I called to You
Where have you hidden, O my Beloved?
I seek only Your word, O Bridegroom of my soul
O Son of God, my Spouse, I seek You with love

O Lord, You have hidden Yourself in my heart
It is there I will find You, in deepest prayer
Your essence, Your presence, in my innermost soul
I have become Your dwelling and Your hiding place

O touches of love that pierce, like arrows of loving fire
Leaving my heart changed by the heat of Your love
So intense this burning, my soul is transformed
And like the phoenix, rises anew from the ashes

I WILL FORGET ALL ELSE AND SEEK YOU THERE, DEEP IN MY SOUL
I WILL DESIRE AND FIND YOU AND ADORE YOU THERE
I WILL REJOICE AND BE GLAD, YOU ARE HIDDEN IN MY SOUL
I WILL SEEK YOU THERE, YOU ARE SO CLOSE
